ROC's
The Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROC) are designed to incentivise the generation of electricity from eligible renewable sources in the United Kingdom. It was introduced in England and Wales and in a different form (the Renewables Obligation (Scotland)) in Scotland in April 2002 and in Northern Ireland in April 2005.
 
Feed In Tariff
The Government announced in July 2009 the details of the proposed feed-in tariff for Microgeneration systems from April 2010, in England, Scotland and Wales (For Northern Ireland, refer to ROC's). The consultation for this ended on the 15th October 2009 and we are awaiting the final proposals from the Government in mid January.
 
Grants
The DTI's Low Carbon Buildings Programme provides grants for microgeneration technologies for householders, community organisations, schools, the public sector and businesses. The programme is managed by the Energy Saving Trust, has now been extended for householder applications to June 2010.
